Calendula Oil is the primary medicinal product from our start-up, home-based business. 100% of the calendula flowers we use are grown on our farm, in our living soil, hand picked, soaked in grapeseed oil, and sun saturated for a minimum of 20 days.
The life beneath our bare feet
Since 1997, our family has stewarded and grown with our 1.25 acres using living soil, bio-generative practices, no dig, no synthetics: pesticides, fertilizers, otherbicides. Not only do we recycle all the organic waste from our own little piece of paradise, but, through the Stay Fun Farms landscape maintenance division, we bring in tons of organic ‘waste’ from our clients’ properties annually.
Little did we know, the microbes that we were nourishing this whole time, were in fact, reciprocating the favour. As we have learned more and more about the soil food web, we have grown increasingly inspired to nourish it with the clean carbon sources that we gather, and have seen, first hand, the plethora of benefits.
Recycling leaves, wood chips, straw, hay, perennials, mushrooms, and ‘weeds’ creates a growing medium and thriving network of soil microbes, fungi and bacteria that work to break down these raw materials and turn them into bio available minerals and nutrients, drastically increasing nutrient cycling, water retention, and carbon sequestration in the soil while enhancing plant health and productivity.
