The Garden Philosopher

It’s a crazy world out there. A fast one. You’re super busy. You really don’t have that much time to think. Honestly, how could you? With the rise of the attention industry, we’ve now created a system where many of the brightest and most ambitious minds in the world are employed and concerned with grabbing one more second of your time.

Being a gardener that spends most of his time alone with plants, I have the opposite situation on my hands. I have a lot of time to think, listen to podcasts, and learn from the gardens. I know this lifestyle isn’t for everyone, but it suits me perfectly.

Much of the time that I’m in the garden, I’m consumed with thinking about the garden itself and creating incremental improvements, working on our dynamic design principle.

I have a lot of other time with voices in my head, thought leaders in different domains coming directly through the airwaves and landing on my podcast catcher.

And then… well… then I have time to just let everything coalesce and see what bubbles to the surface.

For this purpose I am creating a blog. It gives me a place to hash out some of the thoughts, the meanderings, the musings that circle around in my head, emptying the whirlpool in order to create space to fill it back up.

I hope, if you’ve found your way here, that you find value in the lessons from the garden. At the very least, it should become clear what I value, and the world that I am hoping to help create.

Let’s keep it fun shall we.
